Meet the Coaches

Coaching Team
SoleKIDS is a volunteer-led organization that depends on a host of dedicated, energetic adults who are excited to get kids and their families moving. Coaching is a rewarding experience and we are grateful for all the head coaches, assistant coaches and parent volunteers who make the program possible!
Coach Katie
(Island City)
I love SoleKIDS! I love watching the kids get more confident and grow stronger throughout the season. Cheering them on at the 5K race and seeing their excitement is the highlight of the season. I started running during my college years and I appreciate how easy it is to get out there. All one needs is a pair of shoes and a little dedication. One of my favorite things to do when I’m traveling is to get to know the area on a run.
Coach Ashley (Central)
I’ve been running for 17 years and gained a passion for the sport while participating in cross country in high school. Running is a lifetime sport that has taught me how to overcome more than just physical obstacles that have come my way. I have two children, Kellen, age 11 and Tucker, age 6. La Grande is a great place to run and enjoy the outdoors. As a family, we love exploring MERA and the great trails with our Vizsla dog, Pepper.
Coach Linda
(Imbler)
My name is Linda and I have loved sports and exercising ever since I was a youth. I raised two athletic boys and was always involved helping and coaching them when they were younger. I enjoy the outdoors, basketball, football, hockey, kayaking, hiking and spending time with dogs/farm animals and family. I am excited to co-coach SoleKIDS with Mackenzie this fall as we help young runners build confidence, learn new skills, enjoy the sport and have fun!.
